This course examines societal developments from the past to the present with an emphasis on emerging ideologies, expansion of empires, growth of nations, and an increase of global interdependence. Students develop an understanding of current world issues and relate them to their historical, geographical, political, economic, and cultural contexts.  Instructional practices incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to society.  The appropriate use of technology is an integral part of this course.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

After reviewing the data, this course will only be offered as a SHADOW-CLASS.

This change has been implemented in light of overwhelming evidence that indicates a superior degree of success obtained by students enrolled in the SHADOW-CLASSES v/s the traditional tutorials.

SHADOW-CLASS QUICK DESCRIPTION:  

  • We make contact with the student’s classroom instructor in order to obtain pertinent course information to insure student success.
  • We work closely with the classroom instructor to provide sessions that will be relevant to current instruction.
  • We create a SHADOW-CLASS based on the states pacing guide.  This along with the partnerships developed with the classroom instructors is the key to student success.
